Todo list tutorials just don't cut it
JavaScript client frameworks are powerful and help you create an amazing experience for your end user. Unfortunately, learning how to use them sucks.
What if I told you that in 2 weeks from now, you could create a fully functional Vue 3.0 application?
Seems impossible, but the trick is to fail as much as possible... I'll help with that!
It doesn't matter how long you've been programming, either! I've been at this for over 20 years and learning frontend frameworks has been the hardest thing I've ever had to do.
That's because I never saw how the pros actually do it!
I've Failed... A Lot
I'm proud to admit it, too! Every tutorial I ever watched on YouTube or actually paid for offered some version of a Todo list as the demo material. As a content creator myself, I realize that you have to keep things focused, so you have to constrain things a bit.
But then you leave out all the good stuff:
- Random errors seemingly out of the blue that cause your application to render a white screen.
- API calls that return nothing, and then something, and then nothing again.
- CSS headaches!
- Testing strategies.
- Integrations with real services like Firebase and Supabase.
I could go on, but you get the idea. I wish I could have found a tutorial that dealt with Real World issues and that encouraged failure as a way of learning. But I couldn't!
So I made one myself.
It's a book, a bunch of videos, and a lot of fun
The concepts are in the book, which is where we learn how Vue 3 and Nuxt 3 work. We sprinkle in some Tailwind, plugin Stripe and off we go.
The walkthrough is a set of 25 videos, each about 30 minutes long, where you get to watch a lightly-edited walkthrough of me building a real application. This is a casual watch
